This Aircraft Mechanic position is located in the Executive Mission Helicopter Program, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) in Jacksonville, FL.

Incumbent works at the journeyman level performing the full range of aircraft mechanic duties on the executive missionhelicopter (i.e. H-60 and/or H-3 platform). Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, modifies, installs and tests a variety of aircraft systems (i.e. hydraulic, oil, fuel, landing gear assemblies, pressurization systems, etc)

YANKEE WHITE:

This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), and favorably adjudicated and approved for Presidential Support Duty (PSD) in accordance with DoD Directive 5210.55 (Access to Presidential Support Facilities-Special Access Program, Yankee White).

Additionally, the selectee(s) shall be approved for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Duties:

- Install, adjust, align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational testing on all of the major aircraft systems.

- Evaluate and verify the work of other Aircraft Mechanics.

- Connect up related systems, such as hydraulic and cable systems, to newly installed or repaired units.

- Install all types of mechanical fasteners and hydraulic and fuel system components and fittings.

Travel Required

OCCASIONAL TRAVEL, UP TO 10%, MAY BE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE MISSION.

You must be a US Citizen.

Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Selectee must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Ability to perform the Aircraft Mechanic duties without more than Normal Supervision: having journeyman level experience performing the full function and complex work requirements of a depot level Aircraft Mechanic at a full scale depot level maintenance facility or depot field site; performing the installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and final functional and operational testing on all of the following major aircraft systems, prototypes, hydraulic, fuel, flight control, rotor drive, gear boxes, rotor heads, rotor blades, landing gear, heating, air conditioning, safety, and survival, etc.I have both the knowledge and ability to connect up related systems, such as hydraulic and cable systems, to newly installed or repaired units.I have assessed and certified by my signature or stamp, entire completed work packages ready to be presented to quality assurance for final approval to return military or commercial aircraft structures to up status for flight.I have evaluated and verified the work of other Aircraft Mechanics.
